In an attempt to go even beyond last year’s highly successful Conference, this year KSPS is offering to conference attendees both virtual and onsite events, with the in-person Conference to be held at Western Kentucky University’s Cherry Hall in Bowling Green, KY.
Like last year’s Conference, this year’s will feature a wide variety of topics, workshops, and readings. Topics this year will include Poetry in Translation, Kentucky Women Poets, and a panel on chapbooks, among other topics. We are also fortunate to have, again, Kentucky’s Poet Laureate Crystal Wilkinson as a keynote speaker and panel participant. Ms. Wilkinson’s appearance at the Conference will be virtual, but she will deliver the keynote address from the Lexington Public Library for those in the Lexington area who might like to see her in person. The annual business meeting and election of new Board members will also be held during the weekend. A packet of information for that meeting will be sent to members a few days before the Conference.
Accommodations for overnighters include Hyatt Place on Center Street (within walking distance of Cherry Hall), or—if your tastes run toward the more upscale—Kentucky Grand Hotel and Spa in downtown Bowling Green. Other accommodations include Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn University Plaza, both off of Scottsville Road.
Mor details about presenters and the schedule will be available on the conference website beginning on September 1.
