The Kentucky State Poetry Society seeks to inspire, encourage, and develop Kentucky’s poets through a wide variety of workshops, lectures, and publishing opportunities. The Kentucky State Poetry Society publishes the biannual literary journal Pegasus, offers a student and adult poetry contest, and hosts an annual conference.
Membership in the Society is not limited to Kentuckians! Our members come from all over the US, Canada, and beyond, and have many vocations and lifestyles. Several KSPS members have published poetry in some of the nation’s finest publications and have books to their credit. Other members have yet to be published–it matters not to us. Our common bond is an appreciation for poetry. If you share this interest, you are invited to join us.
Through KSPS, members have the opportunity to associate with fellow writers, develop lifelong friendships, exchange ideas, and learn from each other and from workshop leaders at annual meetings at various Kentucky scenic locations on how to sharpen writing skills and gain appreciation for the art of poetry.
Adults – $35 Students – $15
The Kentucky State Poetry Society does not share its membership list, to include member mailing or email addresses and/or phone numbers, with any other organization EXCEPT the National Federation of State Poetry Societies (required for NFSPS contest eligibility guidelines).
The leadership team of KSPS consists of volunteer officers, committee chairs, and directors who have been elected by the KSPS membership or appointed by the current president. Contact us with questions or comments.
