And Looking Ahead: The 2026 Kentucky State Poetry Conference

September’s events are just the beginning. We’re also looking ahead to the 2026 Kentucky State Poetry Conference, taking place online Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST.

This year’s conference is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 60th anniversary.

We’re thrilled to welcome Ricardo Nazario y Colón as our keynote speaker for a full day of poetry festivities, connection, learning, and celebration.

And there’s even more reason to join us: registration is FREE for KSPS members in celebration of our 60th anniversary.

Not a member yet? Now is a great time to join. Membership comes with complimentary admission to the conference, along with additional member benefits throughout the year.

Mark your calendar for October 31 and stay tuned for more information about the full conference lineup!

September is full of poetry—come be part of it.

From a featured reading and open mic to an exploration of poetry and the natural world, the Kentucky State Poetry Society has plenty in store this month. We hope to see you on September 8 and September 23—and online for our 60th anniversary conference on October 31!
